They have one son, Alessandro.<\/p>\n<p>The moment Denise moved to Bedford she became active in her community. She joined the Newcomers Club and became a board member. The club was involved in many community service activities including raising money for the playground at Memorial School.<\/p>\n<p>When there was talk of discontinuing the traditional Olde Towne Day  Denise came up with an idea to have a fashion show at the Bedford Village Inn as a&nbsp;prelude to the&nbsp;event the Friday beforehand. She orchestrated the entire show which was a huge success. Not only did she help raise additional money, she created interest for more town involvement.  <\/p>\n<p>Denise taught cooking classes  for Bedford\u2019s Parks and Recreation Department at the Olde Town Hall.  She helped make various food items to be auctioned at a fundraiser for the Bedford High School. She also volunteered in the office  at the McKelvie and assisted the teachers at Lurgio, along with a bit of substitute teaching. <\/p>\n<p>Being very concerned about environmental issues Denise served on the Conservation Commission for a number of years. <\/p>\n<p>As her son was involved in  the rowing sport at BHS, she became a board member of the group that oversaw those activities. By now you can see that Denise Ricciardi is the kind of person who likes to help to get things done.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently Denise became a huge voice regarding the placement of cell towers in residential  backyards. This is a battle she fought not only personally, but for the protection and safety of the Riddlebrook school children, as well as the residents of Greenfield Farms and  Tirell Road, who may have been impacted. During that time, she held informational meetings to inform and educate the residents of Bedford. She then traveled to Washington DC to speak on this very issue.<\/p>\n<p>Denise has always followed town issues by attending numerous Town Council, Planning, and Zoning Board meetings.<\/p>\n<p>This year Denise wrote a proclamation for the State of New Hampshire for a National Health and Environmental Day. The purpose of this was to call attention to the need to  protect air, food, and quality of life for our children. Governor Sununu signed it and now we observe it every October 11.<\/p>\n<p>As a <strong>fiscal conservative<\/strong> and proponent of <strong>volunteerism<\/strong> Denise strongly believes that volunteerism can be implemented to keep community costs reasonable. She will consider individuals on fixed incomes by practicing fiscal responsibility.
